Effectively immediately, Hereron Bridge between Bulman and Acland roads will be closed to motorists.

Alternate access to Acland Road will be from Edwards Road.

Routine maintenance revealed the bridge’s main structure is deteriorating.

For safety reasons the bridge will remain closed until it is replaced.

Project costs of $350,000 include design and construction.

The bridge is scheduled for construction in summer 2011 pending environmental approvals.
