The road leading to the summit of Knox Mountain Park will re-open to vehicle traffic Wednesday, September 1 at 9 a.m.
Knox Mountain Drive was closed last month due to extremely high fire hazard.
“Fire danger rating is still moderate-to-high for Kelowna area so please be cautious while visiting the park,” says Blair Stewart, Urban Forest Health Technician for the City of Kelowna.
“We also remind park users that no smoking is permitted.”
Public smoking is prohibited in all natural areas and parks in the City of Kelowna.
Campfires are not allowed at anytime within City parks.
Knox Mountain Park gate is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
On Sunday, vehicles can enter the park starting at 12 p.m. and must be outside the gate by 9 p.m.
No motor vehicles are permitted off the paved surfaces.
