A wildfire burning near the Joe Rich Forest Service Road is 75% contained and 100% guarded.
That's the word from the B.C. Forest Service who began fighting the blaze early this morning with 10 firefighters and three pieces of heavy equipment.
The wildfire was first spotted shortly after midnight Thursday following Wednesdays lightning storm.
Flames were visible for miles around in the night sky.
Forestry officials say crews made good progress on the fire Thursday.
Crews will continue to black-line, or burn off small areas of fuel, inside the guard in order to achieve 100% containment.
The fire is about 10 hectares in size.
No structures are threatened.
