Man re-united with his money

Wednesday was George Ballinghall’s lucky day.

Ballinghall, a Penticton resident, had lost an envelope containing $1,600 near Riverside Drive.

He reported his loss to Penticton RCMP, in the off chance that the money, all in $100 bills, would be found and turned into the RCMP.

To Ballinghall's surprise, David Bailie, also of Penticton, had located the money and had already turned it in to the Penticton RCMP.

Sgt. Rick Dellebuur says stories like this are a reminder that there are good people out there still doing the right thing.

"As a society we are often exposed to events that all too often are the result of people not doing what it is right by others," says Dellebuur.
