Update 1:45 p.m.: FortisBC says power has now been restored to customers in the Capri area. The problem was with a circuit switch which has now been repaired.

About 300 Fortis customers in the Capri area are without power.

Fortis officials say the power went out at about noon on Monday.

The outage is affecting some businesses and residences on portions of Sutherland Avenue, Ethel Street, DeHart Avenue and the 1,000 to 1,100 block of Harvey Avenue.

Fortis is still attempting to determine the cause of the outage.

Several lighted intersections are affected. Motorists are reminded to treat those intersections as four-way stops.

No time frame on when power will be restored.
