Foul play ruled out in death of female

Foul play has now been ruled out as the cause of death of a woman found in Okanagan Lake last weekend.

Acting Regional Coroner Shannon Bender-Bell confirmed that Friday after reviewing the findings of an autopsy conducted earlier this week.

Bender-Bell says a positive identification has also been made.

The woman is a 31-year-old Kelowna resident, however, her name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Bender-Bell says just how long the woman was in the lake and the exact cause of death won't be released until the investigation into the woman's death is complete.

The body of the woman was discovered last Saturday under a dock workers were repairing near Kelowna Marina.
