UPDATE: 2:57 p.m.
A number of people could be seen in handcuffs on Friday afternoon after Kamloops Mounties and heavily armed members of the RCMP’s emergency response team descended on a Brocklehurst townhouse complex.
Neighbours told Castanet police arrived at the Valhalla Drive complex at about 1:30 p.m., targeting the same home that was the scene of a murder two years ago.
The police presence was large, including a drone flying overhead. ERT members could be seen breaking windows to get into the house, neighbours said.
None of the neighbours who spoke to Castanet were surprised to see police back at the home.
Mounties began to release their detainees and leave the area at about 2:30 p.m.
Castanet has asked police for more information about the incident. This story will be updated if more becomes known.
