Don't let your vehicle become glass vending machine for the bears this season.
The bears are officially awake and were caught salivating over a meal on wheels on the evening of April 19.
Trail police responded to a report of a vehicle that was supposedly stuffed with garbage that attracted bears in the 100 block of Haig Street, in Warfield.
“Please be aware that bears are out of hibernation and looking for any available food source. Garbage is a key attractor. Please secure all garbage until the morning of trash collection in your neighbourhood," said Sgt. Wicentowich of the Trail RCMP.
The matter was reported to the Village of Warfield, and the owner of the vehicle was contacted and, subsequently, removed the trash.
