Trail RCMP have confirmed that a 57-year-old Grand Forks man accused of assault of another man at a hockey game turned himself in on April 8.
Police have said that the man was arrested by an officer for aggravated assault and was released on an undertaking pending charge approval and a future court date. No name has been released at this time.
The arrested stems from an alleged assault that took place during a Grand Forks Border Bruins versus Beaver Valley Nitehawks playoff game at the Beaver Valley Arena on March 19.
Police reported that an argument turned into a physical fight after two men, one from Grand Forks, began to argue over the use of an air horn.
Community members and police confirmed the supposed victim sustained serious injuries.
Trail RCMP reported that the 57-year-old Grand Forks man will make his first appearance on June 26 of this year in Provincial Court in Rossland.
