Artists from across Canada are now displaying their art and their attitudes toward the Olympics at react2010.com. www.react2010.com , a unique forum for creative artistic expression about the Olympics, is now live. The Kelowna based Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art created this site as a means to engage artists and the global community in a creative cultural conversation about the values surrounding the Olympics.
“I am ecstatic with the variety of the mediums that have been submitted by the artists. We actually had to change the programming of the site to accommodate the types of art that was submitted.”, states Jennifer Pickering, Executive Director of the Alternator.
“More and more artists kept coming forward – this project definitely caught the imagination of artists.”
React2010.com currently showcases the creative works of artists from the east coast to the west coast of Canada displaying their art, and their opinions, to the world. More artists continue to be added. Artistic works include Painting, Performance, Photography, Poetry, Installation, 2 second life performances, 2 original songs, Posters, Paper sculpture, sculpture with crayon shavings and lots more video.
An exhibition of some of the works will run until March 20 at the Alternator Gallery.
