No one was injured after a young man went over an embankment in his vehicle Monday morning.

Cst. Robyn Mayr says an 18-year-old man was driving his red Pontiac Sunfire down Southridge Drive Sunday morning around 11:30 a.m. when he lost control of the car.

"He was traveling too fast for the conditions, being cold, and he lost control coming around the corner. He over-corrected, over-corrected again, and then came over the bank here."

The car went down an eight-foot embankment at the corner of Southridge Drive and Quarry Avenue, coming to rest after hitting a white van parked in the driveway of the house on the corner.

First responders at the scene speculated that the man was on his cell phone at the time of the accident, but Mayr says that wasn't the case. "No, there is no indication that he was on his cell phone at this time."

The man is being charged with driving too fast relative to the conditions.
