Local businesses and organizations have been generous to the Kelowna Community Food Bank this Christmas, with a number of sizable donations handed over in December. They include:

  • The Kelowna and Area Scotiabank Charity Committee presented the Kelowna Food Bank with a sizable cheque for $10,450 after raising funds through their Turn a Hungry Face into a Happy Face campaign, and through the Foosball for Food Corporate Challenge which pitted the bank against Bell Allard Delcourt. Annegret's Chocolates' handmade Smiley Face chocolates were a big hit.

  • School district 23 students collected food for the Kelowna Community Food Bank. While students from every school helped collect food, a special thanks to students from Ecole KLO Middle School and OKM for collecting a combined total of 5,000 lbs of food. Their donations directly support KCFB children’s programs.

  • Kelowna Firefighters presented a cheque from the Battle of the Bridge inter-departmental hockey game to the Kelowna Community Food Bank. Fans were treated to a friendly but competitive game with the Kelowna side taking round one in what is expected to become an epic rivalry. The inaugural event raised $300 cash and and a lot of non-perishable food for Central Okanagan food banks.

The Kelowna Community Food Bank would like to thank everyone who has donated this season. Donations of non-perishable food and monetary donations are always gratefully accepted.
