Crystal Mountain Ski Resort says it's hoping Tuesday's predicted snowstorm will mean it can open on Friday.
As of December 11, the ski hill had a snow base of 22 cm and needed another 10.
On Sunday, Crystal received another two cm, with another 10 cm in the forecast for Tuesday.
A message on the resort's website says staff hope to open the resort Friday, December 18, if the mountain gets the predicted snow.
At Big White Ski Resort, two more lifts are scheduled to open this week, says Michael J. Ballingall, vice-president of marketing.
"Well, we're opening the Powder Triple Chair lift tomorrow, and Gem Lake on Thursday," says Ballingall.
He says it will take more snow before all the lifts are up and running, adding the mountain received about 1.5 cm of snow overnight.
Most of Silver Star Resort's lifts are up and running, with only four waiting to open, says a report on the resort's website. Silver Star has received one cm of snow in the past 24 hours.
Apex Mountain Resort has all four of its lifts open, along with about half of the runs, thanks to eight cm of snow overnight.
General Manager James Shalman says 35 cm of snow is in the forecast for this week and if that happens, the majority of Apex's 68 runs will be open by Saturday.
"We'll have a lot more of the runs open throughout the week," says Shalman.
