A violent home invasion has sent one Central Okanagan man to the hospital.
Three men broke into a home in the 2400 block of Old Okanagan Highway in West Kelowna just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Constable Steve Holmes says the residents of the home, a 55-year-old man and his wife, were sleeping.
“The unidentified men broke through a glass door to get inside the residence. They entered the master bedroom and assaulted the 55-year-old man while he and his wife were sleeping,” says Holmes.
He says the victim was repeatedly hit with a broom handle, suffering numerous cuts to his head.
“Neither the victim nor his wife recognized any of the suspects. The motive for the attack has not yet been ascertained as nothing appears to have been taken.”
Holmes says the investigation is continuing with respect to identifying and arresting the suspects.
