Gas service has been restored to all "but a few stragglers" in West Kelowna, a spokesperson for Terasen Gas says.
Hundreds of residents in Shannon Lake were affected by a gas outage after crews working on Shannon Lake Drive accidentally punctured a four-inch gas main on Friday afternoon, says Terasen Gas spokesperson Carol Greaves.
Crews went in initially to shut off the gas to some people's homes, and then had to go back to everyone's home to relight the pilot lights for people's appliances.
"Crews have visited every home... but some people were not home," says Greaves. In that case, a door tag was left on the door with contact information.
The outage affected more than 400 homes in Tallus Ridge, Shannon Woods Estates and Shannon View Heights.
