Celebrations take flight this September at the Okanagan Military Museum.
This year, Canada celebrates the 100th anniversary of powered flight and in honour of this milestone the public is invited to an Air Fair on Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Exhibitors will include the Flying Model Club, Plastic Scale Modelers, Air Cadets, Air Force Association, and the Canadian Aviation Artists Association. If weather permits, then the Flying Model Club will fly helicopter models.
The Air Fair is presented by the Okanagan Military Museum Society. Admission is by donation.
“The Air Fair will showcase the best of our local aviation and military associations,” says Vince Bezeau, Vice President of the Okanagan Military Museum Society. “We invite the public to come and learn more about the history of flight in Canada and about contemporary military aviation.”
Also in celebration of Canada’s 100th anniversary of powered flight, the Okanagan Military Museum is presenting a special exhibition which highlights Okanagan connections to Canadian aeronautical history.
The exhibit runs until the end of the anniversary year.
The Okanagan Military Museum is located at 1424 Ellis Street, at the corner of Ellis and Doyle.
