All police have to work with right now is a van and a cell phone call from a 27-year-old West Kelowna woman who claims she was kidnapped Tuesday.
The events began to unfold at noon when a woman called Kelowna RCMP to say that her sister called from her cell phone and said that she had been kidnapped by two men and was being held in a basement.
Police traced the call to Lakeshore Road in Kelowna's Mission.
"With very few details, police launched a search for the woman through the day and into the night, checking every location she was thought to be at both in Kelowna and in West Kelowna," says Constable, Steve Holmes. "She was not found and no other communication was received from her until the following day at 9:00 a.m. when police received a 911 call from the woman who said she was on a Forest Service Rd. in West Kelowna, in her vehicle, a White Dodge Caravan."
Holmes says the woman was taken to hospital with a head injury.
