A casting call has been put out in the Okanagan to help fill roles in a horror movie.

A local production company, Moviehouse Pictures, is planning to filming a horror movie called 'Mortal Remains' in September and next spring and will be holding auditions later this month.

Moviehouse Pictures produced the direct-to-DVD horror movie 'Darkest Hour' in 2005.

Producer Trevor Trombley says they are looking to fill seven roles with local actors.

“This is a non-union paid opportunity for actors. Considering Moviehouse’s past success in nailing down distribution, those cast in this movie will build their professional reel and be able to rent the final product at their local video store, pure cool factor,” says Trombley.

He says they are booking auditions for Sunday, August 23 in the Rotary Centre’s Salloum Rehearsal Room.

CHRIS - All around average young man, think Seth Cohen from the OC, or Sam Witwicky from Transformers. Has a crush on Amanda but doesn't have the courage to tell her how he feels. (Age 18-26).
TYSON - The James Dean type. Good looking, from the wrong sides of the tracks, medium build. Rides a motorbike but also has a sensitive side. Dating Amanda. (Age 21-30)
KURT - The ultimate bad ass. Alpha male. Leader of the pack. Intense appearance. Sociopathic tendencies. A tattooed career criminal with an anti-social personality. (Age 24-30)
NICK - The overweight sidekick. Very funny and obnoxious. Best friends with Chris. Example would be Jonah Hill (Seth) from Superbad. (Age 18-26)
MATT - The follower. Good looking but can't think for himself. Friends with Tyson and Kurt. Tattooed bad boy, drug dealer and bully. (Age 22-30)
VICTORIA - High maintenance and cruel, likes dangerous boys. Manipulative. Uses her sexuality to get what she wants. Beautiful blonde or brunette, possible breast augmentation. Dating Matt. (Age 21-26)
AMANDA - The girl next door. Very beautiful, well liked and approachable. Dating Tyson but best friends with Chris. Came from a poor family and has issues with insecurity. (Age 18-26)
