Update: Prescribed burning will not take place today due to poor conditions.
A prescribed fire damage/beetle kill burn will occur in the Regional District in the 6600 block of Lakeshore Rd.
The fires will be visible to Kelowna and West Kelowna residents. Open burning will begin this morning, if Ministry of Environment venting index allows.
The three day forecast is predicting good venting index and allowable burning days.
Additional machinery and water supply will be on site for the duration of the burn.
Kelowna Fire Department and the burning contractor will be monitoring this situation.
