Wendy’s Dreamlift Day is coming back to the Okanagan this month.
All sales from the nine participating Wendy’s locations made on January 28 will go towards the next B.C. Interior ’Dreamlift to Disneyland,’ scheduled for later this year through the Sunshine Foundation of Canada.
Event co-ordinator, Steve Tuck, says local celebrities and dignitaries will be helping fill orders.
“The nine participating Wendy’s include three locations in Kamloops, two locations in Kelowna and one each in Salmon Arm, Vernon, Westbank and Penticton. All proceeds from the day’s sales, as well as staff and management wages, will go towards the Dreamlift,” says Tuck.
The Sunshine Foundation of Canada works to grant the wishes of children between three and 18-years-old who have severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illness.
The ‘Dreamlift’ program flies the children to Disneyland for a day. The last ‘Dreamlift Day’ in the Thompson/Okanagan region took place in 2006.
