There are now half-a-dozen people gunning for Sindi Hawkins' seat.
The founder of Pacific Safety Products, Brad Field, announced Thursday that he will also be seeking the Liberal nomination for the Kelowna-Mission riding.
He joins a growing number of names including Jack Pinder, Maxine Dehart, Nicole Bullock, Mark Thompson and Steve Thomson, for a total of six.
Field, who has retired from Pacific Safety Products, says he's been thinking about politics for a long time.
“I have been working towards this opportunity to run for the BC Liberal nomination for years. The right time is now.”
Field says that despite having to move the bulk of his manufacturing company to Ontario a few years ago, his heart is still in Kelowna.
“I bring to this nomination the skills and expertise gained through my business experience, my deep commitment to this community, and an ongoing dedication and passion to make a difference.”
The winner of the Liberal nomination will be decided on which candidate sells the most party memberships.
The winning candidate will be announced sometime in March.
