School District 23 has a new chair.
Rolli Cacchioni a second term trustee, was elected chair at the Board's inaugural meeting Monday defeating incumbent Moyra Baxter.
Cacchioni says the key issue he will have to deal with now is the limited grants from the province just announced by Education Minister Shirley Bond.
"She has indicated in no uncertain terms there will be a problem with money flowing to the School Districts, so we are going to have to make sure we continue to offer the services that we offer to our students and to ensure they are learning and our graduation rates continue to increase," says Cacchioni.
Anna Hunt-Binkley was elected Vice-Chair for the first six months of the new term and Wayne Horning for the second half.
