New automated collection information

Some important info is heading to the mailboxes of Central Okanagan residents.

Newsletters informing residents about the Regional District of the Central Okanagan’s new Automated Waste Collection cart program will be arriving soon.

Starting early next year, RDCO will begin to distribute new wheeled carts that will be used for curbside collection of garbage, recyclables and yard waste.

Distribution will be done across the region in phases, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.

Each property receiving curbside solid waste collection will get three carts: one for garbage one for recyclables and one for yard waste. When residents receive their carts, they can start using them immediately.

The newsletter will direct residents looking for more information to the Regional District website where they will find answers for many questions and a link to a video that’s been produced to show them how the program works.
