“Soul-less” A-Rod email leaks

A-Rod for father of the year! Mr. Rodriguez, ya gotta know, after leaving your wife in a highly-publicized divorce, it's crucial to make sure your kids know you still love them, especially with Thanksgiving coming up and all. Does A-Rod listen? No, the dude totally bails on them to stuff his maw with turkey alongside his eerie-looking mistress.

So when ex-wife Cynthia got wind of his holiday plans, she sent an email to a friend about her former hubby. She writes: "My 6-foot-3, 220-pound soul-less, soon-to-be ex-husband is abandoning his kids on Thanksgiving to be with Madonna ... She called and he ran on her command back to New York City ... Gross!"

Gross, exactly. Should we just give him the award already?

A-Rod or A-Hole?

Britney on the cover of Rolling Stone

Britney Spears, blah blah blah. She’s coming back, she’s doing well, yadda yadda yadda. I’m happy for her. I really am. But why are people making such a big deal over her again? Should she be on the cover of Rolling Stone again?

I read the part of the cover story that the mag has posted online, and interesting to note is that “Britney today has about as many legal rights as when she was in the Mickey Mouse Club.” Her father is controlling every aspect of her life. You gotta feel sorry for her.

Brit's got no legal rights

Winehouse in hospital after major drug binge

Amy Winehouse, yadda yadda yadda, another drug binge, another stint in the hospital. Will this woman ever learn? I was listening to her CD the other day thinking that in all likelihood, Wino will never record another album. She’s just too messed up. Which is a shame, because she has such a great voice.

Apparently this time a fight over the phone with hubby Blake sparked the drug binge. Hey, at least this time she had an excuse? Just trying to be positive here.

Same ol' story for Wino

Nicole Kidman skewered by the Times

Australia, which opens this week in theatres everywhere, is receiving very mixed reviews. However, Nicole Kidman seems to be taking the brunt of the criticism. In a piece by the Times, respected columnist Melanie Reid says Kidman “drifts about like a lost porcelain doll” and is “box office poison.” Another interesting observation is her comparison of Kidman to similar actresses like Keira Knightley and Gwyneth Paltrow, who “pout and scream very beautifully, but cannot act to save their lives.”

Meee-owww!

Ouch! Someone doesn't like Nicole

Stephen Baldwin reaches unknown levels of douchebaggery

Is there any male celebrity who is more of a satirical cesspool than Stephen Baldwin? Ok, don’t answer that, I know Spencer Pratt takes the cake on that one. But seriously, Stephen Baldwin is a joke. When he said he would leave the country if McCain lost, most Americans were wishing he would stick to his word. Unfortunately, he didn’t. He’s still there. And still making an ass of himself on TV.

Dude, can you explain why you want to be on Hannah Montana so badly? Creepy.

Baldwin loves Miley?

Thanksgiving weekend box office battle

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, with two new films opening. The aforementioned Australia, and the Vince Vaughn/Reese Witherspoon flick, Four Christmases. Christmases is getting some bad reviews, and isn’t expected to garner any critical acclaim. This won’t stop families from flocking to it, though, as people are hungry for a Christmas-themed comedy. Expect about $35 million over the 5-day weekend for this one.

Last week’s battle between Twilight and Bolt was easily won by Twilight.

Expect the two films to go neck-and-neck (pardon the subtle Vampire pun) for second place, as Twilight’s audience will dwindle from last week and Bolt’s will stay the same. Both pics are anticipated to have takes close to $30 million.

Australia, a film that cost $125 million (40% of which was funded by Australian tax credits), is likely not going to get much of it back from North American audiences. The epic is expected to take in about $25 million over the 5-day weekend, which will compete for 4th place with the new Bond pic, Quantum of Solace.
