A charge of manslaughter has been laid by Kelowna RCMP against a 23-year old man in connection with the beating death of 55-year old Brian Schaefer last summer on the Westside.

Blake Edward Nahachewski, who is known to police, made his first court appearance on the charge today Thursday and was remanded in custody until his next appearance December 5th.

Police say Schaefer was severely beaten at a home on Gellatly Road July 4th and died from his injuries July 27th.

Investigators also want to speak with Jeff Stroski in connection with the killing though he is not a suspect.
