Two years for fatal motorcycle crash

A Kelowna man has been given a jail sentence for causing the death of a local woman.
Randy Gustof Maier, 26, lost control of his motorcycle before slamming into the back of a pickup truck in Rutland in March, 2005.
The impact killed passenger Donna Howes. She was 38.
Maier was found guilty of dangerous driving causing death and impaired driving.
The accused admitted to drinking several beers prior to the crash.
Maier has been sentenced to two years less a day in jail, one year's probation and is banned from driving for five years.
