A recount has changed nothing.

The results of the Regional District's Central Okanagan East Electoral Area director race remained unchanged after incumbent, Patty Hanson asked for a recount.

Hanson lost to Kelly Hayes by five votes in Saturday's Regional District elections.

The recount was held at the Regional District offices Tuesday.

"The recount was conducted in accordance with the Automated Voting Machines Bylaw #815 and confirms the unofficial results reported by election officials on Saturday night of the 460 votes that were cast by eligible electors," says Communications Director, Bruce Smith.

Following the election Saturday, Hayes received 178 votes, Hanson 173 and Reg Volk 109.

Results of Central Okanagan East and West director elections will be made official by 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 19.
