A recent case of Listeriosis was not connected to the Maple Leaf Foods outbreak.
An elderly woman was diagnosed with the virus in October while she was a patient at Kelowna General Hospital.
Interior Health says the woman is over 65 and had been in the hospital for some time for an existing medical condition.
After sending samples to the national Lab in Winnipeg, the results have come back and they show the woman’s Listeriosis was not connected to the strain found in Maple Leaf Foods products over the summer.
In September, an Okanagan woman died as a result of the virus, which killed several Canadians over the summer.
