Kind stranger saves puppies

To the editor:
Recently, while in the care of our house sitter, our two Basset Hound puppies forged a daring escape from their fenced yard, crossed the bridge on KLO Road without adult supervision, and took themselves for a walk on the Mission Creek Greenway (this must speak to the high quality of Kelowna's parks when fugitive dogs make it their destination).

Someone came across them and called Dog Control to come and take them to a safe place, for which I am profoundly grateful. I would much rather pay a small fine for a loose dog than come home to a dead one. Thanks to the kind Samaritan RJ and Tinkerbell are home safe and sound thanks to you and the weak spot in the fence has been fixed.
