Wilden is a beautiful property and a growing community. Gerhard Blenk walked those lands years ago with a friend who had told him about this piece of property in the Okanagan and that he should buy it for a development project. Gerhard believed him to be right. At some point in the next ten years, 2800 to 3000 homes will be constructed on that land. The developer had vision for the project and with his staff at Blenk Development Corp. it is coming true.

"Seeing my vision of Wilden materialize step by step fills me with a sense of pride and satisfaction that I hope to share with the residents of Wilden." . . . Gerhard Blenk.

“The Vision for Wilden is a simple one, to craft the finest residential development possible. Wilden will be a truly livable lifestyle community in a natural setting and the envy of Canada. Quiet neighborhoods filled with homes designed and built to exacting standards of beauty and function will define Wilden's unique character. Gently winding roads, carefully considering the rugged hillside topography and constructed to minimize disruption of the natural setting. Beautiful homes taking full advantage of the scenic terrain instead of working against it. A casual network of discreet pathways connecting residents to each other and to recreation. This is Wilden. Residents proud of their outstanding community and contributing to and identifying with its concept.”

I went out to Wilden to visit the newest project, the Skylands Neighborhood. Russ Foster, the project manager took me on a tour. This is from the entrance off Clifton Road onto Rio Drive. We started to drive to the top of the development where Skylands is located. It made me remember three or four years ago when Gerhard asked me if I would like to see where he would like to build a home one day and before you knew it he had the chain saw in the truck and we were on the way up, stopping every once in while to saw a tree that had fallen over the trail. When we did get to the top it was magnificent. Looking up and down the lake and the entire Glenmore Valley.

Here we were again but this time on the new infrastructure where all the roads have been completed and the geo-thermal is in place. The views are still magnificent, the lots are larger and there is a peacefulness to the mountain that has a calming effect that you have left the busy world behind.
