Gail Given wants to make sure parents know what programs are available for their children.

The newly elected school board trustee for School District 23 says she will be working on increasing communication between the school district and parents.

“There are a lot of great programs in our school district that don’t exist anywhere else and lots of parents just don’t know about them, so I’ll be working on promoting that,” says Given.

She says the other primary issues will include transportation and special needs education.

“I also plan to work closely with all our partner groups, to listen to what they say.”

Given has spent the last two years working on various SD 23 committees and says the experience will help her in her new position.
