Election results for Armstrong

The unofficial results for Armstrong have been released.

With 816 votes, Chris Pieper has been elected mayor over challenger Ernest Haller, who received 159 votes during Saturday’s municipal election.

Elected to council are Paul Britton (591), Shirley Fowler (709), Ryan Nitchie (688), Ron O’Sullivan (636), Kelly Rowe (410) and John Trainor (532).

Bob Fowler has been elected to one of the two school trustee positions with 1,473 total votes between Armstrong and Spallumcheen.

The second position went to Laurie Myers, who received a total of 1,119 votes. Less than 50 votes separated Myers from candidate Jock McArthur, who received 1,074 votes.

The unofficial results for the Township of Spallumcheen show that Will Hansma is the new mayor. He received 733 votes.

Challengers Dustin Griffin received 267 votes and Guenter Rieger finished with 230.

For council, the following people have been elected: Lorna Bissell (750), Dave Brew (682), Janice Brown (679), Andrew Casson (641), Ralph Leyenhorst (804) and Todd York (873).

In Lumby, incumbent mayor Eric Foster has been re-elected. Results for council are not yet known.
