Results for electoral area directors in the South Okanagan have come in.
According to the website for the Regional District of the Okanagan Similkameen, the following people have been elected:
Electoral Area A (Osoyoos Rural): Mark Pendergraft
Electoral Area B (Cawston): George Hanson
Electoral Area C (Oliver Rural): Allan Patton
Electoral Area D (Kaleden/Okanagan Falls/Apex): Bill Schwarz
Electoral Area E (Naramata): Tom Chapman
Electoral Area F (Okanagan Lake West/West Bench): Michael Brydon
Electoral Area G (Keremeos Rural/Hedley): Elef Christensen
Electoral Area H (Princeton Rural): Results not in yet
Local Community Commissioners for the Olalla Local Community: Wayne Chapin, Flo Winfrey and James Winfrey.
Opinion questions for Electoral Area A have been answered as follows:
For the question: Do you agree with the Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen continuing the Solid Waste Collection and Drop-Off Service in Electoral Area 'A' - Kipoola area? The yes votes totalled 35 and the no votes totalled 5.
For the question: Do you agree with the Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen continuing the Solid Waste Collection and Drop-Off Service in Electoral Area 'A' - Anarchist Mountain area? The yes votes totalled 59 and the no votes totalled 19.
For the question: Do you agree with the Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen continuing the Solid Waste Collection and Drop-Off Service in Electoral Area 'A' - Valley Bottom area? The yes votes totalled 300 and the no votes totalled 68.
In Electoral Area E (Peachland), for the question: Are you in favour with the Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen purchasing additional lakeshore parkland in Electoral Area 'E' with funding coming from the Electoral Area 'E' Parkland Dedication Reserve Fund and Electoral Area 'E' taxation? The yes votes totalled 260 and the no votes totalled 248.
Referendum questions for the Town of Oliver regarding the construction of a town pool and the upgrades to the Venables Auditorium were answered as follows:
The pool bylaw was rejected by both the RDOS and the Town of Oliver and the borrowing bylaw for the upgrade of the Venables Auditorium was passed by both the RDOS and the Town of Oliver.
