Results are in for the City of Penticton municipal election.
Former councillor Dan Ashton has won the mayor’s seat over incumbent Jake Kimberley.
The unofficial final results show Ashton with a total of 4704 votes to Kimberley’s 1478.
“I’m ecstatic, it was a hard working campaign and I couldn’t have made it without all the people who helped on my campaign,” says Ashton.
He says he is respectful of the process and won’t officially be the mayor until the first of the month.
The new Penticton City Council will be made of Dan Albas, Andrew Jakubeit, Mike Pearce, Judy Sentes in addition to incumbent councillors John Vassilaki and Garry Litke.
In the race for school trustee, Shelley Clarke, David Perry and Tom Siddon will join incumbent Larry Little.
