The annual Light a Bulb fundraiser is set to start in the North Okanagan.
The yearly fund raising event for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation starts on Monday November 17 for the 21st year.
Two local children, Kai and Mary-Ann Rogers will make the first donation of this year’s campaign, approximately $400 they raised by selling lemonade over the summer.
The 2008 goal is to raise $250,000 to help equip the new Patient Care Tower.
The Tower will provide a new home for ambulatory care, emergency, intensive and cardiac care, maternity, paediatric and surgical departments.
Greg Hamilton, the event chair for this year, says if everyone makes a gift, large or small, the goal can be reached.
“Your donation will go towards state of the art equipment for the new Patient Care Tower. You will be contributing towards the tools that our health care professionals need to better care for our friends and loved ones. I urge everyone to make a donation and Light a Bulb this holiday season,” says Hamilton.
He says each $35 tax deductible gift will light one bulb on the hospital tree of lights located on the roof of Vernon Jubilee Hospital, $500 will light an entire string.
