A 20-year-old man, already on probation, faces many more charges in connection with the theft of a truck in Westside early Thursday morning.

According to police, a 2001 Ford F350 was stolen from a Westbank home shortly before 4 a.m.

Corporal Ralph Jolly, says the vehicle was spotted a short time later travelling the wrong way along Dobbin Road.

"The driver abandoned the vehicle near Johnson Bentley Pool and fled. The area was immediately secured and searched with the assistance of the Police Dog Section," says Jolly.

"The suspect was located and arrested in a yard behind a fence."

Jolly says the man faces charges of theft over $5,000, dangerous driving and breach of probation.
