A downtown Kelowna house fire at the intersection of Raymer and Richter streets Friday evening, was one of four fires that happened within hours of each other.
"At 7:30, the Kelowna Fire Department doused a carport blaze in the 2300 block of Ethel. About a minute later, another carport fire was called in at the 2100 block of Richter," says Assistant Fire Chief, Lou Wilde. "Shortly after 8:00pm, yet another fire was reported in the 700 block of KLO Rd."
Wilde says investigators from the Kelowna Fire Department and RCMP are working together to figure out whether the fires are suspicious.
"Investigators will be on scene of the Ethel and KLO fires in the morning to try to determine a cause."
