An enforcement blitz resulted in dozens of tickets being handed out in the North Okanagan early this week.

On Tuesday, officers worked the area between 43rd Avenue and 20th Street in Vernon, handing out 41 tickets to drivers.

Vernon RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says they also focused on the Okanagan Landing area.

In all 24 tickets were issued for speeding, seven for not wearing seat belts, two were ticketed for unsafe passing, one person was caught driving without insurance, one for failing to display insurance and seven warnings were given out.

“This will be part of an ongoing traffic enforcement program within the City to bring speeds and the general compliance of all traffic control devices within Vernon/Coldstream and the surrounding Regional Districts,” says Molendyk.
