A new fund raising campaign has been launched for the benefit of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

The Building a Tower of Care Campaign aims to raise $7 million to build a new patient care tower.

More than 250 people attended the campaign launch Saturday evening. The campaign’s organizers were introduced.

Former Lumby mayor Joanne Kineshanko and Coldstream resident, Laurie Postill will be co-chairing the campaign.

They say the current facility is old and far too small for the hospital staff to provide the level of care VJH is known for.

Local philanthropist, George Galbraith, has challenged physicians by matching their total donations, up to $250,000 over five years.

To date, the campaign had raised $1.2 million.
