Lindsay Lohan denies being lesbian

What is with Lindsay Lohan this week? On Monday she apparently “came out” on a radio show, seemingly putting an end to the rumors that she and Samantha Ronson were lovers. But today, her publicist is denying that the two are a couple, and that they are simply “close, close friends.” You’ve gotta be kidding. This is getting silly, already. Time for them to fess up and stop beating around the bush.

What's the story, Lindsay?

Drug rumors about Lohan persist

But wait, we’re not done with LiLo yet. On Wednesday US Weekly magazine was reporting that Lindsay’s attempts to stay clean were failing, and that she is back to using hard drugs again. At first I wasn’t too sure about the story, but the reports just won’t go away. Lindsay was at the Roxy last night with her “close friend”, and onlookers report that she took many a trip to her private bathroom, at least every half hour. Still, these are rumors, and we don’t really know the real story. But judging from how she’s handling the press regarding her relationship with SamRo, I’m not sure that the truth is something she’s too concerned about.

Jessica Simpson and Amy Winehouse bomb in concert

No, they weren’t performing together (though that would be quite a billing). But last night, each performer didn’t exactly have their best moments on stage. Jessica played in Windsor, ON and received a scathing review. No surprise there - we’ve seen her perform lately.

But as for Amy, I think she’s hit rock bottom. Winehouse appeared onstage at the End of Summer Ball in London to provide backing vocals for her 12-year-old goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, which was to be her debut singing performance. One of the ball’s attendees told the Daily Mail: “It was tragic—she seemed totally wasted. She was jumping all over Dionne as the poor girl tried to sing for the crowd. Amy didn’t really sing a single note—it sounded more like she was grunting down the mic.” To make things even sadder, Winehouse was repeatedly heard chanting, “Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.”

Jessica can rebuild and move on. Amy’s career (and life) however is in mission critical mode. This is not good.

Baron Cohen gone wild in Milan!

Sacha Baron Cohen, best known for his character Borat, is up to his old tricks again. While working on his latest film, Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male (love the title), Cohen crashed the party at Milan Fashion Week yesterday when he stormed onto the catwalk, interrupting designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada's show in Milan. “Bruno” jumped on stage and made his way down the catwalk, walking right past the other models. Security was called in and carried him out, only after he had stormed into the models’ changing rooms, causing them to scream and fuss.

This guy will do anything for a laugh. Gotta love him. Luckily, it was captured on video. Enjoy!

Cali duznt <3 txtng

If you can’t decipher textspeak, the headline reads California Doesn’t Heart Texting. When I first saw this story, I thought that California was the first state to pass a law that forbids texting and emailing while driving. Turns out that there are seven other states that have the law already. I think it’s time we pass it here in BC, because I see it happening far too often. I’ve even read studies that show texting while driving causes more accidents than alcohol.

In California, the Gover-naytah Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed a law making it illegal to read or send text messages while driving in California. The bill imposes a $20 fine for a first offense and $50 for repeat offenders using any electronic devices to read or send messages, starting next year. I don’t know about you, but a 20-dollar fine, even 50, isn’t enough of a deterrent. That’s a fraction of the cost of a speeding ticket! Make it $500 and the problem will probably go away, especially if enforced. Wouldn't it be ironic if the state sets up a payment system where you can take care of your ticket via text?

Texting will get ya 20

Remember Dexter and Californication Sunday and Monday Night

Two of television’s best shows return to MovieCentral on Sunday and Monday night. Season 3 of Dexter begins Sunday and the second season of Californication airs Monday. Don’t miss them!

No Soup for you! One week!

I’m off to California and Las Vegas to promote my novel, Behind the Screen: Hacking Hollywood next week, so I won’t be around to serve any Celebrity Soup. I’ll be back with more on Monday, October 6th. Until then, have a great weekend and a great following week!

Shameless self-promotion: Buy my book!
