Miley Cyrus: LIAR!

Over the weekend, it was reported by several gossip sites that there has been major tension on the set of Disney’s Hannah Montana. The primary cause for the friction was blamed on the diva-like behaviour of star Miley Cyrus and her papa Billy Ray. On Monday, representatives for Miley and Billy Ray went on the defensive, claiming that these allegations were completely false.

Today, the Chicago Sun Times, a publication much less likely to rely on whimsical sources, revealed that the allegations of tensions on the set are accurate. "Both Miley and Billy Ray have been exhibiting major attitude. The rudest thing has been their total lack of consideration for all of us who work on the show," said a staff member who has worked on Hannah Montana since its inception. "But beyond showing up horribly late for rehearsals and tapings, they've been incredibly unkind to Miley's key cast members." To add fuel to the story’s expanding fire, Billy Ray has been overheard severely dissing some top Disney Channel honchos. Papa Cyrus has made no secret of his belief the Hannah Montana brand is peaking and that Miley needs to expand her horizons—both as an actress and singer.

I can understand where Miley and Billy Ray are coming from. Miley is a little older now and has probably outgrown the Hannah Montana image (parading around town with a 20-year-old boyfriend certainly conflicts with the image, but it still doesn’t make her a slut). But if they really want out, why don’t they just be up front about it and handle things professionally? Even if they have to take a hit for breach of contract, they have so much money that it shouldn’t hurt them in the long run. Hopefully the situation can be settled amicably, or maybe not, which will just give us more dirt to talk about!

UPDATE: Entourage renewed for 6th season
I've heard that HBO is about to announce renewal of their popular hit comedy, Entourage. The first three episodes of this new fifth season have been very strong, and are a huge step up from the dull season we had to sit through last year. I think Entourage is back on track!

Size 27 my ass

Wait, that was a bad way of putting it, especially considering whom we’re talking about. Dancing With The Stars contestant Kim Kardashian, who was actually pretty decent in her foxtrot last night, has taken to her blog to prove that she weighs a mere 120 pounds and that she can fit into some very small jeans. She even has a video to prove it! The Superficial, one of my favorite gossip websites, has written an open letter to Kim about the whole weight/size controversy, and challenges her to prove herself in a more public forum. This is good stuff. 'Cause seriously, her backside alone has got to account for at least 20 pounds. You can land a jet on that thang! Too bad her choice of outfit last night didn’t do anything to accentuate those assets…

Kimmy K needs to come clean

I tried really hard, but I just can’t bear to watch DWTS

The new season of Dancing With The Stars premiered last night, and although there were moments of mild amusement, there’s just not enough to keep me watching. For those who are going to watch through until the end, I sincerely hope that 82-year old Cloris Leachman is able to stick around long enough to make things interesting. She was awesome! I’m hearing that some producers are already scratching their heads trying to figure out how to best deal with her, as she has the potential for being a loose cannon week after week. Other than Ms. Leachman, I really liked Warren Sapp. I’ve always admired the big guy, especially when he was the quarterback-killing defensive tackle for one of my fave teams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I think Sapp will end up being in the final three, but I unfortunately won’t be around to watch. I may tune in once in a while, especially if Kim K decides to change her outfits, but that’s about it. The show is just too overblown and dull.

Why now, Meg?

Many years after her divorce from Dennis Quaid, Meg Ryan is somehow choosing now to talk about his infidelity. Ryan has opened up to In Style magazine about the relationship that ended publicly when she met Russell Crow on the set of the terrible movie called Proof. She reveals that even though she was the one to blame for the breakup, Dennis Quaid had been having affairs on her for quite some time. Let’s assume this is true – why would she choose to come out with all of this information now? If she was truly portrayed as the “scarlet woman” eight years ago, why not do all you can to defend yourself? Something about this story just doesn’t seem right… I’m not sure what it is, but it will be interesting to see if Dennis Quaid and his publicists come up with a rebuttal.

George Michael (the fictional one) is really humble

Michael Cera, who became famous for playing George Michael in Arrested Development (we’re still waiting for the movie), is quickly becoming a big star. His role in Juno was great, and he was equally as funny in the slightly overrated Superbad. TMZ caught up with him at the airport last night, and you can tell that stardom has not changed the guy one bit. Unless he was staying in character, but my guess is that Cera is really a down to earth guy who hasn’t quite come to terms with the fact that he is becoming a marketable movie star. Cool to see!
