Musician's instruments stolen

An Okanagan musician is missing his instrument.

Someone entered the Salmon Arm home of Jim Leduc sometime over the weekend and took his 3/4 Stand-up Bass, and a black Peavey 3-channel amplifier.

Leduc says he played a gig Friday night and noticed Monday morning that his bass was missing.

“I keep it in the same spot and Monday I realized I didn’t have to walk around it because it was gone. I’m a working musician, that bass is one of my tools,” says Leduc, who plays with Blu Hopkins & Silvercreek.

He says he has been playing that bass for the last 15 years.

“It’s an odd instrument to steal, it’s over six feet tall. I’ve called all the local pawn shops in case someone tries to sell it. I‘ve spoken with the RCMP, but there‘s really not much they can do.”

Leduc says he will offer a reward for the return of the bass and amp. He asked anyone with information to call him on his cell at 250-863-6538.
