Bras Across The Bridge

by - Story: 41760

How many bras will it take to stretch from one end of the William R. Bennett Bridge to the other?

SILK-FM hopes to find out October 3 during "Bras Across the Bridge."

The promotion is aimed at raising awareness for the annual Run For The Cure, October 5, supporting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Each year, thousands of Canadians are touched by breast cancer. It not only impacts the individuals living with the disease, but families, friends and loved ones as well.

"In 2002, we were so humbled by the overwhelming support of our inaugural Bras Across The Bridge campaign raising awareness of breast cancer," says SILK-FM Program Director, Andy James.

"To see over a kilometre of bras strung along the old bridge was truly awe inspiring. This year, we hope to do even more and we cannot do this without the support of our community."

James says they are looking for new or gently used bras for the event.

Bras can be dropped off at any of the following locations:
  • CIBC in the Mission, Westbank, Orchard Park or downtown Kelowna
  • Quality Greens Westbank
  • Body Fit Westbank
  • Fashion Foundations Kelowna
  • Astral Media.
