One motorcyclist is dead after a collision with an SUV on Harvey Avenue at Spall Road on Sunday.
RCMP media relations officer, Constable Steve Holmes, says several witnesses said the black Ford Explorer was travelling eastbound on Harvey and making a left turn onto Spall on a green light when it was hit by a motorcycle.
The first motorcycle was in turn struck by a second motorcycle.
"Both motorcycles were travelling westbound, also on a green light," says Holmes.
He says the driver of the second motorcycle had minor injuries.
The driver of the first motorcycle had serious head and chest injuries and later died in hospital as a result of a complication.
"A woman passenger on the first motorcycle suffered several fractured limbs, but is expected to recover. The driver of the SUV had no injuries and a passenger suffered a minor cut."
Holmes says neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the collision, but says the driver of the second motorcycle was charged for driving contrary to restrictions.
They are also recommending that a Motor Vehicle Act charge be brought against the driver of the SUV.
