To the editor:
Two motorcyclists have been killed in less than a month in this area. Both times the person's death has been 100% the fault of the person driving the car that hit them. Both times not one media company states the cause of the death. No mention of what was a possible factor. Both times charges are not even mentioned in the media posting. Why is it we ignore a key factor regarding these innocent people's deaths? We just ignore it time and time again as people are killed.
The driver of the killing vehicle made a very poor judgment call that cost someone their life. Was that judgment call possibly age related? Maybe physical impairment or just poor eyesight was to blame. The point being is both these drivers have been over the age of 70-years-old. Yes, we all grow older and our reflexes and judgment deteriorates. It's sad, but it's life. However, another innocent person is killed and it's time that something is done to test elderly drivers and their driving skills. We cannot ignore the obvious, that two people have been killed in this area recently with the same common statistic.
