Law violators should be prosecuted

To the editor:
RE: Being nice isn't working!

I empathize with this letter writer.

The situation is that young people don't really care about anyone else but themselves and it's getting worse rather than better.

Drugs and alcohol have a major impact on these issues, and are not going to be resolved until some serious attention is focused on them.

There have always been exceptions to the rule, but now the exceptions ARE the rule, and those who want peace and tranquility now have to find an alternative, or move, akin to the inmates running the asylum.

The responsibility lies directly in the laps of those that are responsible for maintaining peace in society, mainly the "Peace Officers" which are officially the RCMP.

However, in their defense, they cannot do their jobs due to under-staffing, and interference from the Crown Prosecutor who dictates who will get charged and who will not.

In my opinion, the Crown Prosecutor should be investigated. They are bound to protect the public and to prosecute each and every violation of law, no matter how trivial. By not doing that, they are shirking their responsibilities to the public that pays their wages.

Citizens of Kelowna, should be heard and demand that the crown prosecutor do his/her job, or quit.

Breaking the law, is breaking the law, and if you do not enforce the law, no matter how trivial, then you are guilty of promoting anarchy, and we are all in trouble.
