Someone flipped the weather switch in August.
Gabor Fricska, of Environment Canada, says the weather was all over the place, depending on where you were, during the month of August.
"Penticton broke the record rainfall for the month of August. Vernon had one and half times the normal days of rain. Kelowna had 13 days with rain this August compared to the average of ten days. Eleven of these days occurred after August 16th," says Fricska.
"It seemed like a switch got flipped the last 13 days of August. A lot of people feel summer ended early."
He says despite an average summer temperature wise, Kelowna did break a record with the 37.4 temperature set on August 16th. This broke the previous record of 34.3.
