Provincial avalanche control crews have been busy in northwest B.C.
BC Transportation and Infrastructure published a video Wednesday of a controlled avalanche above Highway 37A near Stewart.
The massive slide dusted three kilometres of the highway with 2-4 centimetres of snow.
“The highway was quickly cleared by maintenance crews before the team moved off to the next location,” said the province in a Facebook post.
Provincial avalanche technicians are stationed at eight key locations across B.C., keeping a close eye on weather and snowpack conditions in 62 avalanche prone areas.
BC Transportation and Infrastructure shared another video of a large avalanche in the Stewart area last week.
