Castanet livestreamed the Vernon Winter Carnival parade Saturday

Vernon Carnival parade

The Vernon Winter Carnival parade is back, and Castanet is livestreaming the festivities.

Thousands of people are expected to take in the fun, beginning at noon.

For those who are unable to make it out in person, Castanet will be broadcasting the fun online, hosted by Darren Handschuh.

For those going, the parade starts at 43rd Avenue and travels south on 27th Street, turns briefly onto 30th Avenue, then north on 29th Street past the train station, west on 32nd Avenue past Civic Plaza and the museum, and then north on 31st Street, where it will end at 39th Avenue.

That's a new route this year.

This is the 63rd annual Vernon Winter Carnival, the largest winter festival in Western Canada.

Events continue across Vernon until Feb. 12.
