Large police presence at Kelowna's Costco overnight

Intruder flees Costco

RCMP and fire crews converged on the Kelowna Costco warehouse overnight after an alarm was tripped at the store.

Police say they received an activation alarm while fire received a fire alarm.

RCMP arrived sometime around 1 a.m. and discovered a door on the east side of the building was open.

Surveillance showed someone had been inside the store, possibly hiding after the store had closed for the night.

"The person activated the motion sensor alarm then ran out the door. Nothing reported missing," RCMP tell Castanet News.

Police are combing through surveillance video to try and identify the individual.
